Welcome to my Joyful Blessings Coaching section of Arts and Blessings! I am a board certified (IBCC) Master Mental Health Coach with a specializations in Human Flourishing and Crisis Intervention & Trauma Care.

What is a Master Mental Health Coach?

It’s a relatively new designation through the AACC (American Association of Christian Counselors). It’s like a Life Coach, but more focused on maintaining and improving mental health. It focuses on empowering you to take control of your life by improving your mindset (renewing your mind), building resilience (as they say, “what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger!”) and creating sustainable habits to help you flourish! The Mental Health Coaching is strengths-based and goal-oriented to improve emotional well-being and develop effective coping strategies and achieve personal and professional goals.

What does this have to do with art?

I use art making as a way to reduce stress, process events, and express emotion.  I also use art to solidify what I am learning.  Most importantly, I create to be with the Creator, as an act of worship, journaling, meditation and prayer.  All these things help me to flourish, and I would love to use my skills to help you flourish as well. (Using art is not required!)

I have my BA in Psychology, from Messiah College, and my coaching certificates from Light University, part of AACC. I also have an Art Therapy Practitioner certificate from Scholistico.  I use Scripture as an anchor, a guide, and as solid ground when hard times come.  I will be using the truths and promises in scripture to help guide you as well, along with the strategies and techniques I have learned in my courses at Light University.
